Wine & Strings LP by Ethan Farmer
So, my boy Ethan Farmer (aka “ebassman“) is the resident bass player for our long standing Monday night. If you’ve been, you know how nasty this fool is on those 4 strings…so nasty, some very accomplished bass players admittedly will come to listen, then go home and practice his sound (you know who you are). He’s like a professor up there and half the time it looks like he’s not even trying (seriously, show up at one of his live events and watch this fool jack up the bass…its a thing of beauty). Outside of playing/touring with practically every major artist on the planet (Babyface, Christina Aguilera, Lupe Fiasco, TLC, Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, NKOTB, Musiq Soulchild, etc., etc…), he holds down Mondays with us and runs a pair of jazz nights around town – fool is one of the busiest musicians I know. Always smiling, he makes it all look so effortless. He’s a craftsman, unique in tone & delivery, always mind-blowing where he takes you in the groove. In October 2011, Ethan released his debut record, WINE & STRINGS, which premiered at #7 on the iTunes Jazz charts – impressive (BTW, I asked him about the name and the truth of the matter is, everything was written & recorded while enjoying wine…for real). I was pleasantly surprised to see that he used one of my photos as the cover for his record (not to mention his entire site is loaded with my visual goodies)! People, go support this insanely talented & gifted artist! Congrats on the record family, looking forward to what’s next..
